Tropical cyclone Favio hit the Bazaruto Archipelago at 11am yesterday.  Thankfully no lives were lost – but there has been damage sustained.  The Lodge is going to be closed for a time for repairs – definitely for March, possibly for longer.  We will let you know next week.

The community has been pretty badly affected – with most of the houses being completely devastated.  We will of course assist in the rebuilding as best we can – in the meantime we are trying to accommodate members of the community in the Lodge buildings.  We understand the other Lodges in the area have also been affected – to greater and lesser degrees.  People on the mainland were also badly hit.

Again – we are thankful that there has not been a great loss of life, and we will start the rebuilding process as quickly as we can.

If you have any bookings with us in March, we will be contacting you today to make alternate arrangements for your clients.  We will let you know next week what our exact closure dates will be.
