We are proud to announce that Benguerra Lodge has won the award for Moçambique’s Leading Safari at the 2007 World Travel Awards held in Abu Dhabi on the 30th of May.

Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the "Travel industry's equivalent to the Oscars", the World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and prestigious awards program in global travel industry today. Votes are cast globally by professionals within the travel industry, making the World Travel Awards the most recognized in the travel industry.

Established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the enormous achievements found in all sectors of the global travel industry, dedicated travel professionals and their clients have come to regard the World Travel Awards as the best endorsement that any travel product can receive.

Other nominees in the category of Mozambique’s Leading Safari included Flamingo Bay Water Lodge, Guludo Beach Lodge, Londo Lodge, Marlin Lodge and Vamezi Island Lodge

We are excited about our rebuilding plans, which include increasing the number of luxury suites at the Lodge. The suites are ideal for couples looking for the perfect honeymoon or romantic breakaway. The new suites will be build on the same standard as the existing two suites.

The Villa will remain unchanged. With its two bedrooms it is perfect for a family traveling with children.

We say farewell to our original chalets, they served us well through the years and deserve a peaceful retirement.

Benguerra Lodge will re-open on the 1st of December 2007. We will keep you updated on the progress and will send new pictures as soon as it becomes available.

The rates for 2008 have been finalized. We are sending out copies to everyone. Please let us know if you do not receive your copy.
